VALVE have shared the details on this year’s The International, describing it as “the largest Dota event to date” – the competition will span over four consecutive weeks with a line-up consisting of 30 teams.

The number of participating teams has been increased from 20 to 30 due to the inclusion of the Last Chance Qualifier, which is scheduled for October 8th – 12th and will feature ten teams from the 2nd and 3rd places of the regional qualifiers. There, they will fight for the final two places in the TI’s Group Stage.

The Group Stage will be played on October 15th – 18th, where twenty teams will compete in two groups. The stage’s line-up will include top 12 teams by DPC points, winners of the regional qualifiers and the teams from the Last Chance Qualifiers.

Six teams from each group will advance to the Playoffs, which will be split into two parts. The first one is scheduled for October 20th - 23rd and will be played at Suntec Singapore Convention Center, while the final part will take place at Singapore Indoor Stadium on October 29th – 30th.

Besides the details on the event, VALVE have also announced that the next update – which will include new content for Dota Plus and the 7.31d Gameplay Patch – has been rescheduled for June 8th.
