MAD Lions Close their CS:GO Division and List Players for Transfer

The Spanish organization MAD Lions has decided to close their CS:GO division. All members of the team have been listed for transfer, as the club tries to help them find new homes. The announcement comes just three months after they signed two new players.

MAD Lions have had a Counter-Strike division since their inception in 2017. Initially the club hosted local Spanish rosters, while in 2019 the club merged with Splyce and went international. In the same year the organization invested $2 million to become one of the founding members of FLASHPOINT League, which struggled to successfully launch amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The team’s biggest victory by far was their first place at FLASHPOINT Season 1, where they claimed $500,000 in prize money. Meanwhile the total amount of claimed prize money over these years is around $720,000.

This January MAD Lions signed 25-years-old Polish player Michał "MICHU" Müller and 25-years-old Ukrainian Viktor "somedieyoung" Orudzhev. These additions did not help the team to improve their results as they failed to make it through the open qualifiers for both PGL Major Antwerp RMR and IEM XVII – Dallas.
