FURIA and BIG Advance to the Playoffs of IEM XVII – Dallas

Yet another two teams have qualified for the playoffs stage of Intel Extreme Masters Season XVII - Dallas – they are FURIA Esports and BIG. In Group B’s upper bracket they defeated Cloud9 and MIBR, respectively. Both series ended with 2-0 scores. Now they will compete in the upper bracket finale for a place in the semifinals.

Besides that, yesterday the event saw four teams being eliminated. In Group A, Astralis lost to G2 Esports (1-2), while MOUZ were defeated by Team Vitality (0-2). Meanwhile in Group B Imperial were eliminated by Liquid (0-2), while Complexity lost to Ninjas in Pyjamas (0-2).

The group stage will conclude tonight – the upper bracket winners will qualify directly to the semifinals, while the teams placed 2nd and 3rd will start the playoffs stage from the quarterfinals.

The playoffs stage of Intel Extreme Masters XVII – Dallas will be played from June 3rd to 5th and follow a single-elimination format with a best-of-five grand finale. The winner of the event will claim $100,000 in prize money.
