Monte Crowned Champions of ESL Challenger Jonköping 2023, Earns Spot in EPL S19

On the evening of November 26, the ESL Challenger Jonköping 2023 tournament concluded. The final showdown was between Monte and Eternal Fire.

Both finalists were from Group A, where Monte secured the top spot, while Eternal Fire finished second. In the playoffs, Monte defeated Virtus.pro with a 2:1 scoreline, whereas Eternal Fire overcame the top team from Group B, MIBR, also with a 2:1 score.

The best-of-3 final kicked off with Monte winning on their opponent's pick, Vertigo, with a score of 13:10. Eternal Fire put up a fierce fight for a comeback in the series on Anubis, but ultimately lost in overtime with a score of 16:19.

For their triumph at ESL Challenger Jonköping 2023, the team not only earned $50,000 in prize money but also secured a slot in the ESL Pro League Season 19. Monte joins the roster of 32 participants competing for a total prize pool of $750,000 in the tournament, which will take place in Malta from April 23 to May 12, 2024.
