9INE and BIG qualify for the IEM Brazil
On the evening of February 10th, the European qualifiers for the IEM Brazil 2023 (IEM Spring) were completed. On this day, the second and final team from Europe that would qualify for the tournament was decided.
In the upper bracket, 9INE defeated HONORIS 2-0 on February 9th and earned the first spot for the tournament in Brazil. Goofy, KEi, Kylar, mynio and hades play for the team.
HONORIS, with TaZ, reiko, SaMey, Sobol and lunAtic in the lineup, dropped to the lower bracket to play BIG. In the best-of-3 series, BIG was stronger, winning 2-1.
The IEM Brazil 2023, with a prize pool of $250,000, will take place from April 17-23. Sixteen teams will participate, 14 of which are currently known: FaZe Clan, Fnatic, MOUZ, Natus Vincere, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Vitality, FURIA Esports, Heroic, Outsiders, Cloud9, OG, 9INE, BIG, IHC Esports.
Regional qualifiers - 1 from South America, 1 from North America - will determine the final 2 clubs. On February 15th and 16th, both qualifiers will take place online.
